Red Cow Farm

Romantic Rustic Garden

The Red Cow Farm Garden is hidden in Sutton Forest behind a quaint historic cottage and picket fence. This expansive 2.5 hectare garden has over 20 beautifully designed garden spaces to explore!

The Gardens

We adored the large man-made pond filled with reeds and colourful Koi, and surrounded by an impressive display of bamboo, maple trees, cherry blossoms and garden sculptures. Connected to the garden by an old lichen covered bridge is an intimate island… perfect for photographic shoots. We really loved everything about the delightful Red Cow Farm garden!

History

The original cottage was built in the 1820’s as a gentleman’s residence by ex-convict George Sewell. The unusual name ‘Red Cow Farm’ was inspired by the red Hereford cows grazing in the surrounding paddocks.

In 1990, the current owners Ali Mentesh and Wayne Morrissey bought the property and pursued their dream of creating one of the world’s best gardens. This creative garden represents years of dedication from the owners.
