Botanic Gardens Restaurant… & CafĂ©

  • About: Nestled in the centre of the gardens surrounded by lush tropical plants & a fish pond, a true oasis! The interior has a contemporary treehouse feel with large windows & verandah to enjoy views over the gardens. The restaurant can be enjoyed at anytime of year and in any weather.
  • CafĂ©: Alternatively, if you prefer a more casual eating experience you can grab a takeaway from the cafĂ© below the restaurant & enjoy an outdoor table, right where the wildlife roam… well mostly just the ibises & ducks & the occasional squawking cockatoo!

Chinese Garden of Friendship Tea House

  • About: Escape from the hustle & bustle of the city & discover a hidden oasis. Ornate pavilions, exotic plants, ponds, waterfalls & rocky outcrops. Relax at the lakeside Teahouse, enjoy the willows swaying gently in the breeze & observe the colourful koi swimming in the water garden below.
    Admission Charge:  Access to the Tea House is via the Gardens, so you will need to pay a small admission charge.

Estate Vaucluse House

Please note, this was previously Vaucluse House Tearooms. I’ve not had the opportunity to try the Estate… maybe in the Spring when the wisteria is at its best 🙂

  • About: In the warmer months a table on the balcony is the perfect place to take in the atmosphere, surrounded by lush greenery, flower pots & the sweet scent of wisteria. In the cooler months, take a table inside and enjoy the garden views. You are expected to have breakfast, lunch or high tea.
    Don’t forget to allow time to explore the Historic Vaucluse House Estate.

  • About: The Incinerator is located atop a leafy hill surrounded by tall gum trees, wattle & distant views to the St Leonards sky line. With both indoor & outdoor seating it is the perfect place to meet friends for a bite to eat. As this is a popular cafĂ© it’s wise to get there a little early… & for those who want to enjoy their food & drinks in the surrounding parklands, the cafĂ© also has a take-away menu.
